Walter James "Jim" KINNINGER, son of Henry KINNINGER and Florence SMITH, was born on 11 May 1930 in Wapakoneta. He died on 2 January 2010 at the age of 79 at Good Samariton Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born May 11, 1930, in Wapakoneta to Henry and Florence Smith Kinninger, whopreceded him in death. On Oct. 21, 1950, he married Betty Ann Steinke, who survives. Mr.Kinninger was the owner-operator of Kinninger’s Restaurant, Carryout &Laundromat in Botkins for 37 years. He was a member of Immaculate ConceptionCatholic Church, Botkins, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691,Wapakoneta. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 568,Sidney, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1170, Wapakoneta.He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the board of directors and past president of the Shelby Oaks Golf Club, Sidney. He played baseball for the Botkins Reds. He also played softball and enjoyed playing pool. Survivors also include four children, Gary (Linda) Kinninger, Karen (Rick) Rogers, and Kevin Kinninger, all of Botkins, and Kath (Curt) Waugh, of Ypsilanti, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Market, of Botkins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Kinninger and Tom Evans, a half brother, Isadore Tschuor; and a half sister, Rosemary Evans. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins. The Rev. Patrick Sloneker will officiate.Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to8 p.m. Tuesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. Jim and Betty owned and operated Kinninger's restuarant and Kininger's Carry-out and Launndramat, both in Botkins.
